I picked this coffee shop as the first one, because it was the first delicious spot I found after my arrival to Sendai. I was looking for a source of specialty coffee and a coffee mill. The owners were very friendly and gave me an advice on where to buy it. Ever since I loved to return. Since I haven’t had many friends back then, I used to go there by myself and draw.
Takumi (wife) and Yoshiya (husband), who welcome their customers with a smile, opened their coffee shop on October 27th in 2015, so they’ll be soon celebrating three years. Congratulations!
The husband says that the wife is behind all the magic – roasting and also competing. Nevertheless, he will serve you a perfect cup. They usually bring you a little sample of another coffee while you’re enjoying your drink. It is a great way to try something new.
Takumi started at Starbucks and she didn’t really fancy coffee back then, gradually she found out that if she made the coffee by herself, it was tasty. The real breakthrough was when she tasted Panama Geisha collective. She was surprised by the taste which reminded her of Earl Grey Tea and flowers.
They roast their own coffee, so you can buy a fresh batch any time – they have their own blend, but also single origins. They have an English menu and they also offer some desserts and small food. Coffee comes in many shapes – espressos, cafe lattes with pretty latte art, sparkling coffees and drips. My personal favorite is Ethiopia so far.
Message for future customers: Please come to drink our coffee and enjoy Sendai. It is a beautiful clean city which goes very well with the pure taste of our coffee!
Free wifi: yes
English: Yoshiya speaks well, Takumi gives her best :)
